Our Staycation

We had a fun week while Manuel took his vacation. We took the kids to the movies on Monday and picked broccoli and onions from our garden. We went to the zoo on Tuesday, Cherry Hill on Wednesday, a pirate treasure hunt on Thursday and camping on Friday and Saturday at East Canyon.

We are all exhausted but made so great memories. I bought myself a fishing license and tried my luck again at fishing. Lots of fish all around my hook, but of course none of them interested in my bait.

We ate at the resort and bought some yummy souvenirs. We realized that camping in 100 degree weather was not very smart, especially when we learned our camp ground had no shade. The kids loved it and Gabe said that he always wishes we could live in a tent. I made an apple, fluffy pancake dutch oven creation for breakfast and for dinner we had roasted hot dogs and s'mores.

My favorite memory this week was floating the lazy river with the kids. Paisley loved it so much. We floated on a tube together and right after Manuel and Gabe got out, the music and water shoe started and we were splashed with water from every direction. Paisley loved getting wet and wanted to go under all the waterfalls. Gabe hates getting water on his head so he had an interesting time. He went down the big water slide with Manuel and half way through they had to stop everything and let Gabe off because he started to cry after he went through a waterfall.

Paisley got to meet princess Amerah. I know her personally because I met her a couple years a go when she first started her books and princess business. She now has an act at Cherry Hill and sells her book there. It was fun for Paisley because she really loves princesses right now.

The zoo was fun too, I told the kids if they kept acting like monkeys, the zoo keeper would mistake them for real monkeys and lock them up. I think it worked. The kids were pretty good this week because we stayed so busy, so they got spoiled.
