Paisley turned three on the 23rd. We had a rainbow party and invited a few girls from her nursery class at church.
She had so much fun. We downloaded rainbow songs and played them. We played a rainbow toss game and made rainbow glitter globes out of baby food jars. The kids also decorated and colored their rainbow prize bags. The prizes included sunglasses, rainbow rings, stickers, skittles, rainbow Twizzlers, colorful suckers, ice pops and rainbow airheads.
I made rainbow cupcakes and we had rainbow grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, rainbow salad with blue pasta, and rainbow goldfish crackers. It may have looked like a gay pride festival but it was just what Paisley wanted. She loved all of her presents even the clothes. On the 23rd, we started the day with rainbow french toast. Then we went to the salon for a birthday makeover. Paisley and grandma had their done. Paisley had rainbow painted nails. Then we all went to lunch at the Madbrook donut place. Then we went to the Polynesian festival with grandma. After that, we roasted marshmallows in the backyard and watched fireworks. On Monday, we went to the kids summer movie with Manuel. Then we went to the annual Taste of Layton. We were very impressed with the food this year. So much bang for our buck too. I loved the cupcakes from the Sweet Tooth Fairy and the Twisted Mac & Cheese from Bostons. There was also a Hawaiin BBQ place that must be new. They had really good passion fruit cake and the best Teryaki bowls ever. I am not a rice person and this was the best rice I have ever tasted. It was fluffy, moist and sweet and very light. What a fun weekend!!
