Manuel's Birthday Poem

So...each of the 30 gifts had to do with words in parentheses. I think we gave him just about everything he hinted, wanted and needed. It was fun. The gifts were all hidden throughout the house and each poem verse was hidden with each gift with a clue that had to do with the key words in the poem verse that led him to the next clue and gift. It was fun.

It's time to celebrate!
With 30 different clues
Representing all your traits
of what we love most about you

There's a clue for every year
that we celebrate your life
From: your adorable kids
And your beautiful, hot, sexy wife

You are the “apple” of our eye

And “Berry, berry” smart

You have big muscles

And a very big……heart

Never, ever “frozen”

Your heart is always warm

Like a beautiful beach in “Hawaii”

You are the rainbow after the storm

Articulate and organized

Your office is never a “pen”

Someday you’ll have your dream house

And you’ll have that perfect den

You tolerate your co-workers

Even when they “shake” things up

You are loyal to your boss

And for that you get a thumbs up

You are great at your job

We know you’ll never be “toast”

We know they love you there

But your family loves you most

You work some long, hard days
Hoping to come home and relax
Then you find a "house" full of "monsters"
And probably wish you could go back

We appreciate all you do

to keep this family a "float"

You sacrifice a lot for us

To keep us on the boat

The kids can make you up "tight"
and you feel at the end of your "rope"
But you're always are quick to forgive
Which instills in them great hope

Sometimes they drive you “nuts”

And at night they keep you awake

To regain your “jolliness”

We are glad you take a brake

We love to keep you “leveled”

If you couldn’t tell

And for turning 30

You “measure up” quite well

You don’t need to worry about “wrinkles”

You are in your prime

Losing your train of thought?

It happens all the time

Just keep your “energy” boosted

Even when you feel “shot”

And never skip a “meal” - subway

It will help you have clear thoughts

Don’t forget your “vitamins”

They’ll keep you feeling best

Have “antioxidants” often

And get plenty of rest

You always “perform” so well

At everything you do

You’re one smart “cookie”

And you always have a clue

A “pea” sized problem

Never gets in your way

We tip our “hat” to you

Because you always save the day

And when you’re “crunched” for time

You still make time for us

A “chip” off the old block you are

And that is what we love

You wipe your “hands clean”

Of any family drama

You show respect and kindness towards

Your wife’s energetic mama

We know you like your sports

And you barely miss a game

You once almost had your “ticket”

To your own walk of fame

You were signing “jerseys”

And always in the light

But we’re glad you never went pro

So we could have you in our lives

We know you love to “smell good”

And you like things clean and “new”

Your “car”, your clothes, and furniture

That’s what we like about you

We are glad that you are “German”

That’s what makes you great

You could have been “Australian”

Or even from the States

Sometimes you get a bit silly

and out comes your inner "nerd"

We’ll keep that a family secret

And won’t say another word

Garlic is not your best friend
But it never hurts your pride
