The Hof Winterfest

We went to the Hof Winterfest on Friday and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf was a special guest. We were sitting just a couple tables away from him. He was with his wife, daughter and grandson. We were hoping to meet him but we were to chicken with all of his security guards around him. We saw them turn so many away, but then there were others who took a quick chance and got lucky. He is our favorite apostle and so it was really special to be so close to him.

Our kids were dancing all night right in front of his table and he and his family were amused. Finally, before the night ended we couldn't take it any longer and we sent Gabe to to bravely go tap on his shoulder. And he did. First he went to the wrong guy and had a conversation with him and came back all proud of himself. We told him he went to the wrong guy. So he did it again and he tapped Pres. Uchtdorf on the shoulder and said, "Hi, I am German and so is my Daddy." and Pres. Uchtdorf smiled and said, "Really? Your Daddy is German?" and then he laughed and patted Gabe's head. Then he ran back to us. The body guard was looking at us and laughing. It was surreal. I filmed him speaking and you can see my video below. What a special night!
