May Post

Gabe and Grey
St. Patrick's Day

Our interesting festive dinner
Still as busy as ever and doing well. We had a fun Easter spent with the family. The pictures above were taken at Thanksgiving Point. It was Gabe's first Easter egg hunt and his first pony ride. He is finally getting more teeth and has been going through some pain to get them. He rubs his gums on just about anything he can find; carpet, shoes, walls, and his crib. We joke that he is sharpening his tooth and it will soon turn it into a fang.
He is just about ready to walk. For some time now he has been standing up without any help or support and balancing while shaking toys in his hands. He starts to take a step and then realizes what he is doing and then of course sits back down. For some reason if he is distracted and not focusing on walking he starts to naturally do it. As soon as he is aware of it he sits down.
He will turn 1 year old on May 20th. We are doing a party with just the family. It's going to be an under the sea theme. Water games and fishies, should be fun. Stay tuned for those pictures.
Lindsey was released from her calling as 1st counselor in the Young Womens Presidency as the president sold her house. Currently she is waiting to see if she gets called back in or moves on to a new adventurous calling.
Manuel is still enjoying his job. Working from home 2 days a week and running our business on the side. We are looking into trading his car in for something new. The miles have really added up over the past few years. We are going to lease an SUV but at this point haven't decided on one. We need something bigger for our business and for Gabe.
We hope everyone is doing well. Warm wishes!

April Post
Sorry we are late this month!
We've had trouble downloading our pictures so we'll just add them to the May post. We had a really nice Easter. On Saturday we went to Thanksgiving Point and Gabe went on 2 Easter egg hunts with his cousins. He also went on a wagon ride, a pony ride and got to pet a baby goat. He went fishing for prizes and got a plastic bunny on the end of his fishing pole.
We had a nice pic nic and and then the adults had a money easter egg hunt. It was a nice day. On Easter Sunday Gabe got his Easter basket and went on an egg hunt in the house. By then he had the hang of it pretty well and he found every egg and put them in his basket. The eggs had baby treats inside of them (blueberry and Mango) he loved them. He got a car for Easter and he loved it! He puts his left hand on the steering wheel and his right hand on the gear shift and he shifts while steering. It's so cute. He loves to go fast in it and it plays different sound effects with the horn the key and the radio. There's a little compartment where he stores his treats and his bottle. He eats while driving yet hasn't had a car accident!
Now that the weather is warming up we've been visiting a lot of parks. Manuel works from home 2 days a week. Our favorite park is a new Utah National Park just 2 miles west of our house. There is a beautiful lake with free fishing and paved trails that wind beside cow pastures and horses with a stream and a pond. There are tadpoles and frogs, cat tails and lots of wildlife along the banks of the stream. There are beautiful birds that we've never seen before that are bright orange, red, yellow, blue and black. There are bridges that cross over the streams and lake and large grassy fields for recreation. The trail goes for about 4 miles. We go jogging there at least twice a week. It's our new secret spot that is still undiscovered as it is seldom crowded.
We hope all of you had a wonderful Easter and have a great month! We're still staying busy with lots to do. Stay tuned for May!

March Post

Springtime is almost here! Wow time goes by fast. Since our last posting, Gabe is now crawling, has a tooth and pulls himself up in an attempt to walk. He weighs almost 20 lbs and is in the 80th percentile for his height. Looks like he might be a goaley after all.
Manuel is still working at UCN in Bluffdale. There has been some restructuring in his department and he now has a better position that puts him in line for a great promotion. He gets to work from home a couple days a week and it works well for us and our business. The business is doing great and we now have an experienced sales team. We really enjoy buildng our company even though the work is often times demanding.
Lindsey turns 26 on the 5th. She now looks at aging as a positive thing. "I find that as each year passes my life feels a bit more fullfilling as I count the many blessings I've received since my last birthday".
We hope everyone is doing well. Here are the latest pictures we've had devopled. Enjoy!!

February Post

Happy Valentines Day!!
We had a wonderful time in Germany over Christmas break. We are still working hard at building up our business and you can view our website at www.foamcuttingtools.com
We've already had sales success in Utah during the month of January. Roger (Lindsey's dad) has been doing a great job as our Utah sales rep! Now that we have the ball rolling there we are getting back to work on our 2nd business Samurai ATV.... comming soon!! We'll keep everyone posted.
We've really enjoyed building up our business but something we enjoy even more is our son, Gabe! He is such a sweet boy. Always smiling and trying to win over anyone's heart. He's a charmer, and at times very silly but also very respectful and caring for those around him. Sounds crazy in regards to an 8 month old, but he truly is very grown-up yet at the same time, very much a baby. We love him! No teeth yet and no crawling, however he loves to be on his feet. He can balance on his own and seems to be very anxious to walk.
We hope you enjoy these latest pictures of him. Check in for March's post!

November Post

We have lots of new picts of Gabe! Our little guy is a celebrity in Germany. The local newspaper in Manuel's home town contacted Manuel's mom and wrote a page article about Gabe with his picture. The reason being is that he is the first child to be made from the sister city relationship of Hof, Germany and Ogden, Utah. The relationship has existed since the 60's and Gabe is the first result of the benefits of that relationship. There will be an open house for him this December when we are in Germany. After the article was printed several people have contacted Manuel's mom and want to meet Gabe. We're excited!
Manuel starts playing soccer again this month. He is in an indoor league in Ogden. It will be the first time Gabe gets to see his dad play!
Gabe enjoyed Halloween. He went trick-or-treating to one house but he had fun. I let him taste a lolly pop, but just one lick! He started speaking in sentences this month. He says momma, da-da, and ba ba and a few other words but he now has the tones down. It sounds like he's asking questions and then answering himself. Its really cute!
Well....we hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!!

October Posting

Stacey recommended that we start a blog for our family, and after looking at theirs we thought it was a great idea! Thanks Stacey!
October is our favorite month! Halloween is my favorite holiday and Manuel's birthday is the 30th. We are really enjoying our little family. Gabe will be 5 months on the 20th. He is already 18 lbs. He's fitting into his 9 month old clothes but they are still a little big. The doctor says he is the perfect size and height for his age and has the perfect head circumference. We love him!
I'm watching 2 other little babies right now but after this week I'll just have one. It's been nice to stay at home and be with Gabe and its good for him to have friends. Manuel and I started our own business RIEMA USA LLC. The web site will be finished at the end of this month and we will post the URL next month so you all can visit our web site. We are working in the import/export business and have 2 contracts with construction cutting tools and ATVs. We anticipate that within the next couple of years or sooner Manuel can quit his job and do this full time. Right now I am working the business since I am at home. We love it!!
We hope everyone is doing well and that you all have a Happy Halloween!!!
Love,
Lindsey & Manuel
