Thanksgiving at Grandma Bev's

We had dinner at Grandma Bev's then went to Grandpa Roger's and Grandma Candice's house to visit. Gabe stepped on my pie in the car, before it made it to Grandma's house, then he threw a Lego at his sister and split open her face which was quite traumatic, and grandma and uncle Cam dropped the turkey but other than that there was little drama. I made a four berry pie (2 pies), apple sausage stuffing, orange cranberry sauce, a pumpkin roll, cranberry apple walnut coleslaw, and a peach white cranberry pomegranate 7-up drink. I don't think I gained too much weight this year. I hope not at least. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving Thanks!

Tonight for family home evening, we celebrated Thanksgiving "Rietzsch family style" before the big day at Grandma's house this week. We sang Thanksgiving hymns, watched a cartoon about the first Thanksgiving, colored and cut out pilgrims. Then we had a big, big dinner. Roasted chicken and gracy, poppy seed salad, rolls, appetizers, cider ginger spritzer, and a homemade pumpkin roll (thanks for those tea towels Oma Christa)! It was fun and we were stuffed.

Gabe had a Thanksgiving feast at preschool today and they made turkey hats. Manuel is having one at work tomorrow and then of course we celebrate again on Thanksgiving and then we are going to Park City this weekend for our anniversary and will be eating again. I lost 6 pounds last week to prepare for this week. Wow!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This Weeks Silly Moments

Check out Paisley's hair.

Gabe and his friends at Arctic Circle

Paisley loves to snuggle with everything. Pajamas, dirty underwear, dish rags or anything soft.

Check out the apple butter mustache

Gabe stuck a CD in his Disney toy computer. He couldn't figure out why it wouldn't play.

Funny Moments

My cute photos all disappeared on the computer today. It's a mystery.

Funny moments of the week are:

Gabe was excited to learn how to write his name. He decided to secretly practice on his own. As you can see he drew the letter G all over the house and himself. Does anyone know how to get brown crayon out of white upholstery?

He also fell asleep with his bear on his head, so cute!

Paisley dumped popcorn all over the living room and literally swam in it. The vacuum ate it all later!

We decorated for Thanksgiving last week and enjoyed the last few leaves left on our tree. So sad the snow is here already!

Updates!!

Sorry, for some reason we didn't take a lot of pictures this week. If you didn't already hear on Facebook I was chosen as Wasatch Woman Magazine's "Wasatch Woman of the Year" for the category "motherhood". It was really exciting, humbling and honorable news. There are 5 categories and then the overall "Woman of the Year". I think this issue comes out in January or February. I got to go to a fun photo shoot on Friday downtown. They did my hair and makeup and then took pictures. I took this picture when we got home. What do ya think?

In January there will be a banquet at the Little America Hotel and I'll get to meet the other winners. In fact I have an amazing story to share about this whole thing and some of these amazing women. I'll post it later today on my other blog Stand a Little Taller. Be sure to check it out.

Just in case you don't catch these things on Facebook, I have 2 other blogs I update weekly. Stand a Little Taller is a spiritual blog where I talk about the most important near and dearest things of my heart. I share messages that are bold yet profound and I bare testimony of what I know to be true. I hope you check it out.

The other blog is my author blog, Life and Love According to Lindsey This is where I discuss a broad range of topics that women, families and couples struggle with on a daily basis. It's a lot of fun yet keeps me busy.

Right now I'm working hard at launching my next big project. Most of you already know about my skin care invention that is patent pending. It is finally being manufactured right now over in China and I will have 10,000 of them by the end of the month. The foot care formula that goes with it is actually being manufactured personally by me in my own kitchen in a variety of scents. So in a few weeks I am going to be looking for testimonials. If you want to be a guinea pig and test the product for free let me know. I'll post about it again later.

I don't know how I get involved in so many things all the time but once I have an idea, I usually can't get it out of my head. It's a blessing and a curse. The final project that I also spend time on is the DVD follow up to my book. A "How to" DVD company asked me a couple months ago to work with them on making a How to Date Your Spouse DVD. We have been filming segments for it here and then and the goal is to have it ready by Valentines Day. I'll let you know how that goes.

Well, life is busy but we are happy and enjoying it every step of the way. I love my family and they make all the ups and downs in life seem like a fun ride. We have fun together and I love them for their constant support and unconditional love.

Have a great week!

Halloween

Halloween was so laid back and fun this year. We slept in and were lazy all day. Later on we took the kids to the HOA trunk or treat in the park behind our house. That was fun. Then Manuel took Gabe to a really scary and cool house on Gordan Ave. Then I made dinner (just chicken nuggets, salad and apple cider), plugged in the strobe light and turned on the scary music and we were ready to go. I took the kids trick or treating while Manuel stayed home to pass out candy. Gabe was so sweet to everyone. He said "I hope you have a great Halloween!" at every house. Paisley got the hang of things and in no time she was a pro at using her cuteness to get more candy. Suddenly I felt liquid in my shoe and after realizing it wasn't raining and there were no sprinklers I learned that Paisley had peed all over me. So we went home. Manuel took Gabe out for the rest of the night and Paisley answered the door and passed out candy. What a night!!
