Weekend Road Trip

What a weekend! We took a family road trip to Kanab, Bryce Canyon and Big Candy

Rock Mountain. At Big Candy Rock Mountain we visited Lemonade Springs and let the kids taste the lemonade water. Yes, it is yellow and it is sour. It's all from the minerals. We went there as kids and it was fun to see my kids enjoy my childhood experiences.

Of course we bought the rock and candy and had a big dinner at the resort cafe.

In Kanab they were having the Western Legend Festival, where we got to see and meet all the old famous Western movie stars. We got to see all the old movie sets and museums. There were parades and booths and the best craft fair I have ever seen.

Our hotel was so fun. We stayed at the Victorian Inn. They served delicious breakfasts each morning and I loved the decor. The kids loved our hotel room. What a fun little town with so much to do. There were shows, entertainment, and tours going on all day all throughout the town. Lot's of pretty scenery and caves too. And of course that scary man that killed a deputy was hiding out right near where we were staying. Channel 4 news was staying at our hotel and reporting on the story.

In Kanab we turned down a canyon road and discovered a large pet cemetery. There were hundreds of wind chimes hanging in rows of trees, statues, benches and tomb stones and it was kind of eerie.

I taught myself to can peaches today. Our peach tree was exploding with peaches when we came back. I was happy that all the jars sealed. We woke up this morning to a broken tree in the park behind our house, part of our roof on the lawn and debris scattered all over the backyard. Must have been a bad storm last night but we were s tired we slept through it all.
